Our story

From RAF Lyneham to the Cotswolds.

Lyneham Flying Club was established at RAF Lyneham in 2003. Following the closure of the airfield, the club relocated to Cotswold Airport at Kemble.

Today, more than 100 members share a varied fleet, learn with experienced instructors and support a club run entirely by volunteers. The club has no employees: members contribute to the community that keeps flying affordable and enjoyable.

LFC is affiliated to RAF Sport Aircraft and maintains close links that help share safety information and best practice.

Education

Flying instruction, ground training and examinations that build knowledge, judgement and airmanship.

Opportunity

Economic access to recreational flying for regular and reserve personnel, dependants and eligible members.

Community

A self-help club where every member can contribute and learn from shared experience.

Scholarships

Opening the door
to aviation.

As part of its charitable work, the club administers four flying scholarships for Service personnel.

One scholarship is funded by Lyneham Flying Club and three are generously funded by the Swire Charitable Trust. Contact the club for current eligibility and application information.
